FAA Leave (FAAL) is a benefit for Delta Air Lines Pilots whose case has been submitted to the FAA and is awaiting a decision by the FAA. Dr. Faulkner does not determine whether a Pilot receives FAAL or not. Dr. Faulkner makes a recommendation to Pilot Leaves, based on information provided by the Pilot, that there is a reasonable expectation the Pilot will be cleared by the FAA.
In order to apply for FAAL consideration, a Pilot must provide at a minimum:
- an email with a written request to rtw@medicaldirectionllc.com be considered for FAAL;
- provide the COMPLETE package of information submitted to the FAA in PDF format to rtw@medicaldirectionllc.com;
- if the Pilot’s medical was deferred, documentation from the Pilot’s AME that the exam was deferred and the reason for the deferral.
Once ALL information is submitted Dr. Faulkner sends a memo to Pilot Leaves recommending FAAL. Pilot Leaves makes the determination of whether a Pilot receives FAAL or not.
